Artila releases new generation of WinCE-ready ARM9 box computer Matrix-618
Tiny but mighty ARM9 Embedded Computer with fault resilient booting

Matrix-618Artila Electronics, the leading designer and manufacturer of embedded ARM9 industrial PC, is proud to release Matrix-618, the new generation of its ARM9 box computer selection. Its fanless ARM9 RISC CPU and robust metal case design makes the Matrix-618 ideal for industrial applications that require a powerful and reliable automation controller.

Matrix-618, the new generation of WinCE ARM9 industrial box computer, is powered by a 400MHZ/MMU ATMEL ARM926EJ-S ARM Thumb Processor, and also equipped with 64MB SDRAM, 128MB NAMD Flash memory, and 2MB DataFlash. In addition, the Matrix-618 integrates two 10/100 Mbps Ethernet, eight high speed RS-232/422/485 serial ports, and two USB hosts into a compact metal box. A serial console port is available for system configuration and software debug. The DIN-Rail and wall-mounting capability also makes Matrix-618’s onsite installation flexible.

WinCE 6.0 is preinstalled in the NAND Flash memory and the SDK for Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 is available for users’ application development. C/C++, C# and VB.net programming language are supported by Matrix-618 SDK and the integrated development environment (IDE) of Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 can maximize programmers’ productivity.

Matrix-618 also provides failover mechanism. DataFlash includes a backup file system which will automatically boot up Matrix-618 in case the primary NAND Flash fails. The failure-proof and redundant booting design makes Matrix-618 an ideal platform for many mission-critical applications.

The Matrix-618 provides ready-to-use Web server, Telnet server and FTP server. Its comprehensive network capabilities make the Matrix-618 an ideal platform for developing remote device monitoring/control application. Also, the Matrix-618 supports the Microsoft’s Remote Display Control for WinCE utility, which allow users to operate/configure the Matrix-618 in and UI-based environment.
