eMMC Replacement and Software Update

The purpose of software update

The software update ensures continued reliability and compatibility for select Artila products due to the end-of-life (EOL) of SLC (Single-Level Cell) eMMC devices from our vendor, Kingston. The update supports new 14nm MLC (Multi-Level Cell) eMMC devices, replacing the discontinued SLC-based hardware.

• Software Version: Linux kernel upgrade from 5.10.x to 5.15.x

Release Date: May 2025

Customer Impact

This update has been rigorously tested to ensure seamless compatibility with existing systems and applications. No customer action is required. The new MLC eMMC components and software update will be applied to all new shipments starting May 2025. Existing systems will continue to operate without interruption.
